Fred G Whelton

Fred was a patient in September 1918. He sent postcards to his wife Ethel at 23 Hindmans Road, East Dulwich. The first is a photograph of the exterior of the hospital. He says ‘The ward I am in is the top bayed window room on the left of the house’.

He goes on to say that he will also be sending a picture of the ward downstairs which is the same as his above. On this second postcard also sent at 7.15 pm on 10^th September he enthuses ‘What do you think of this ward? Can any place look more pleasant and comfortable?’ He sends his fondest love and promises a letter that evening.
