Private Frank Fell

Frank was born in 1891 son of Harry and Louisa Fell. Louisa died in 1908 and a step-mother, Bessie and later a step-brother, twenty years Frank’s junior, eventually made up the household in Coventry Street. Frank, like his father worked at the cement works.

He enlisted with RWR in 1917 and a year later the Rugby Advertiser (7^th September 1918) reported that Signaller Fell had been severely wounded in France. It hard to imagine the horror that Frank Fell endured.

He was discharged in June 1919 and awarded the Silver Badge (B224009) which was to be worn on civilian clothes to show that he had been injured in action and honourable discharged.

Frank Fell died in 1972 and is buried in Southam church yard
