Below you can listen to an edited version of a short interview with Val Brodie during the BBC Coventry and Warwickshire “Vic Minett” programme on March 22nd. This interview was the second of three with members of the Southam Heritage Collection broadcast as part of the Shakespeare on Tour programme of 200 stories relating to the locations of performances of Shakespeare’s works.
The interviews discussed the results of some of the research work done as a result of the BBC discovering a playbill dating from 1822 which describes a performance of Shakespeare’s Macbeth that took place at Southam’s New Theatre at the rear of the Craven Arms Inn. This recording is made available by kind permission of the BBC. For further details about Shakespeare on Tour please click on the link. To hear the interview click on the slider below.
